SUMMARY:COMMUNITY KEEP ACTIVE OPEN DAY
DESCRIPTION:Come and joins us for our inaugural \nCommunity Keep Active Open Day\n16:00-17:00 \nMeet and Greet  \nDACCI CIC have an opportunity to deliver the sessions detailed below. Each will support people in our community to keep active\, stay healthy\, socialise and have some fun. \nDisability Access Swim and Therapy Sessions \nSwimming for the disabled is recognised as one of the best forms of therapy and is enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities for recreation and fitness. We want to make swimming accessible\, fun\, and easy for disabled adults and children in our community. We will offer several options for those with disabilities\, from the sensation of floating in water for the severely disabled to actually teaching the more abled how to swim. \nOur partners’ certified instructors will lead sessions that will help individuals gain a sense of water awareness\, improve their swimming skills\, increase their enjoyment in the water and socialise with others. They will deliver sessions suitable for those with varying disabilities to ensure swimming can be enjoyable for everyone. Together we aim to make staying active easier. \n\nSensory Swim and Therapy Sessions \nOur sensory swim sessions are ideal for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)\, learning disabilities\, physical disabilities\, mobility impairments\, visual and hearing impairments\, long-term illnesses and health conditions. Many children find regular swimming sessions overwhelming due to sensory overload. Swimming pools can be loud and busy places\, with splashes and echoes. For children with sensory sensitivities or ASD\, this can lead to anxiety and meltdowns. \n\nOur sessions will be delivered in a safe\, purpose-built environment\, a space to nurture their social\, cognitive and physical abilities.\nOur sessions allow children to relax\, find enjoyment and maybe learn how to swim dependant on thier capability.\nOur sessions offer effective full-body low impact exercise and will improve mobility\, coordination\, speech\, fine motor skills\, social skills and emotional regulation.\nOur partners certified instructors will be on hand to offer support\, advice and guidance to parents and carers.\n\nChildren inherently learn through their senses – touch\, taste\, smell\, sound\, and sight – so our sensory sessions offer invaluable stimulus. \n\nGroup Swims Sessions (Elders\, Girls\, Boys\, Adults) \nSwimming is a one of the most productive ways to keep active and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Our sessions will be delivered by our partners’ trained instructors. Open to all ages and to swimmers of all levels or for those who just want to have some fun whilst being active. \n\nFamily Fun Float Sessions \nDedicated sessions for families. \n\nWomen Swin Sessions \nDedicated women swim sessions. \n\nSoft Play \nSoft play is more than just a fun activity. Soft play is a key component in a child’s development\, offering many cognitive\, emotional\, and physical benefits. Soft play allows children to explore\, play\, learn and be active. \nWith our partner we will deliver sessions that promote climbing\, jumping\, and running around in a safe supervised environment. Additional benefits include social skills development\, problem-solving and adaptability\, creativity\, communication skills and motor skills. Together we want to enrich the active experiences of African Caribbean children in Derby. \nIf you or someone you know may be interested in part or all of the above\, come and joins us to find out more and have a tour of facilities. \nDACCI CIC would like to hear directly from individuals or families impacted by disability and sensory needs so that we can work together to create our swim and therapy sessions. \nDACCI CIC and Everyone Active – Together we aim to make staying active easier. \n\nPlus… \n17:00-18:00 \nOn the day you’ll be able to take advantage of DACCI CIC reduced rates and exclusive pool use for the following activities… \nFamily Fun Float Session (toys\, games and much more) \nFather and Sons Session \nWomen and Children Session (boys up to 8) \nAdults – £2.50 | Children – £1 | Family (4 or more) – £7.00 \nSo\, come prepared and enjoy a dip with family and friends. \nYou can just come down for swim sessions and soft play. \n16:30-18:00  \nSoft Play \nRefreshments 16:00-17:00 \nInformation for guests: \n\nAll children under the age of 8 need to be accompanied by an adult\, this ratio is 2 children to 1 adult.\nIf using the car park\, everyone must enter their car registration into one of the tablets in reception to get 3 hours free car parking.
