I’m Carolyn Clarke founder of Cherish Me.

We are a mum and daughter family business. My eldest daughter is the illustrator for Cherish Me. We initially started our business to create gifts, where brown and African Caribbean girls were able to see a representation of themselves. We felt that it was important for girls to feel empowered when they received our gifts.

Our aim is to encourage and empower girls to be the best version of themselves!

Emotional wellness is at the forefront of our business and most of our gifts reflect this. Over the years, we have also created well-being products for boys, following many requests from our customers. In 2021, we have had many requests to have gifts for babies and so we now have greeting cards and milestone cards for babies.

Our gifts include:

Journals for both boys and girls: These provide a safe space for children to express their feelings through guided prompts in their journals.

Becoming Me journal for girls: (aged 9 onwards)

For me journal writing helps children on every level of their development, it helps them to develop confidence in their writing and they can start to write about their dreams and aspirations. They can be as creative as they want by using all methods of communication, from poems, quotes, pictures, drawings, photographs: these all convey so much meaning of their lives. It teaches them that their thoughts are powerful and because they are positive words it’s a great affirmation for them.
