Elders Appreciation
Elders are the bedrock of any community. Their wealth of knowledge and experience play a significant role, influencing how families and communities lead their way of life.
Many of our elders who travelled to these shores are now in their 80s and 90s, some, no longer with us. There is a clear and present danger of losing their life experiences and more importantly knowledge forever.
“Now, one thing is for sure… our elders could tell many stories of life in Derby… a time when we supported and looked out for each other… a time when we had a strong sense of community,”.
